The Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) celebrates back-to-back wins for the country as two Filipinos claim top recognitions at the third Asia Youth, Women, Netizen (YWN) Marketing Excellence Awards held last October 25, 2019 in Taipei, Taiwan.

Credited for her work in the industry as the Chair Mom and Chief Creative Officer of Dentsu Jayme Syfu, Merlee Jayme, was chosen as one of three recipients of the “Asia Women Marketeer of the Year,” a distinction that honors the invaluable contributions of Asian women as leaders and innovators.

Reynaldo “Kakam” Gabunada Jr., Vice President for Consumer Marketing (Dairy) at Nestle Philippines, Inc., was selected as the “Asia Youth Marketeer of the Year” alongside three other winners, honoring Asia’s emerging marketers aged 21 to 35.

The achievements of Jayme and Gabunada mark the second time for the country to win both the Women and the Youth categories, following the awarding of Margot Torres and Ralph Layco, respectively, during the second Asia YWN Marketing Excellence Awards. This also solidifies the Philippines’ winning streak since the inception of the awards, with Dr. Donald Patrick Lim claiming the Netizen title at the inaugural awarding ceremony in 2018.

Hosted by the Asia Marketing Federation (AMF), the Asia YWN Marketing Excellence Awards is unique and timely in that it acknowledges the vital role of Youth, Women, and Netizen marketers in shaping and promoting the growth of Asian Marketing in this ever-evolving industry.

The awards are open to all AMF member countries across the region, including Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Finalists were selected by the national marketing associations of each country, with the final judging done by a jury panel comprised of representatives of the AMF member countries.
